Collection: Federico Palazzari

Federico Palazzari brings an unconventional background and an entrepreneurial spirit to Italian lighting design. Raised in a family of lawyers and theatre producers, he attended the Francesco Morosini Naval School in Venice before studying law at La Sapienza University in Rome. His fascination with design ultimately led him to Milan in his early thirties, where he began working in custom lighting production.

At the helm of Nemo Lighting since 2012, Palazzari has helped connect the brand’s celebrated design heritage with contemporary creativity. Nemo’s collections bring together works by influential figures such as Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, and Vico Magistretti alongside new designs that explore the possibilities of light, materials, and form.

His own contributions include the Ellisse collection, whose elliptical silhouettes give light a sculptural presence. Whether suspended above a dining table or arranged within a larger architectural space, these fixtures offer a striking balance of visual simplicity and expressive geometry.

For Palazzari, lighting is both a creative pursuit and a business built around design—one that honors enduring ideas while making room for the next generation.
