Pendant Lights: One Fixture, All the Drama
A pendant is the one light in a room that gets to be furniture. It hangs at eye level, it casts a shadow on the counter, and it is the first thing anyone notices walking in. Whether you want a single sculptural drop over a bar cart or a row of three that reads like punctuation across an island, the pendants below cover the range from quiet Danish restraint to full spectacle.
One Perfect Drop
Some rooms only need one. These three are built to carry a space by themselves, which means silhouette and finish matter more than lumens.

Add 3" of clearance for every foot of ceiling height above 8'. For example, a 9' ceiling calls for an additional 3" of clearance, while a 10' ceiling calls for 6". This keeps pendants and other hanging fixtures at a comfortable height as ceiling heights increase.
Questions We Get about Pendant Lighting
How many pendants over an island?
Use two for islands under 6', and three for islands 7' to 9' long. Keep at least 6" between the outermost fixture and the island edge. Odd numbers photograph better; even numbers hang easier.
Do low voltage pendants need special wiring?
Yes. Fire and Seguro run on FreeJack, MonoRail, or Monopoint systems, which require a transformer and compatible canopy. Budget for the complete system, not just the pendant.
Can pendants go in a bathroom or covered porch?
Only damp or wet rated ones, so confirm the listing before specifying anything near water. For covered porches, choose wet-rated fixtures when they may be exposed to rain or moisture, while damp-rated fixtures are suitable for protected areas where direct water exposure is unlikely.
