Stretching high overhead before bending outward, the Tolomeo Maxi Floor Lamp from Artemide uses exaggerated scale to turn an articulated floor lamp into a commanding element of the furniture arrangement. The long metal arms trace a broad angular path above the base, then terminate in a generous fabric shade whose volume offsets the skeletal framework below. Beside a deep sofa or lounge chair, that combination of height and reach creates the distinctive look of an oversized lamp poised above the seating rather than another conventional standing fixture.
